Kaffa
Within this brief, I was asked to create a beanless coffee brand that focuses on both the preservation of our precious earth and the distinct and renowned taste of Ethiopian coffee. The brand, started by Ethiopian natives, Ayana and Nebueru Ali, avoids the pollution and sustainability issues that plague the current coffee industry by using sustainable ingredients and maintains that Ethiopian flavor that is so crucial to their culture. The entire brand concept evolved to be one reflective of the Ethiopian culture with a modern, environmental twist. The name Kaffa comes from the province of Kaffa in Ethiopia, where the discovery of the coffee bean is theorized to have occured. The Ethiopain Tilet (common in Ethiopian clothing and decor) was used as a reference for the brand's logo and the brand board is based off of common, bright colors found in Ethiopian art and clothing, but with an added modern twist of green for the ecological hint. This sustainable coffee alternative is for all coffee-loving souls and beautifully combines the timeless taste, look and smell of Ethiopian coffee with a smaller footprint to preserve both the timeless coffee taste and our beloved planet.
